Tethering and Wi-Fi

Share your Internet connection with other devices is easy. We just have to go to Settings> Wireless & networks> Tethering & Portable Wi-Fi. And depending on our device would see the options of USB tethering to share our connection using a USB cable that connect to your laptop or computer, Wi-Fi laptop, to create an access point Wi-Fi, and the option Anchor Bluetooth, the least used.

The option of Wi-Fi hotspot allows us to configure the Wi-Fi for añadirñe a network name, and select add password security. Must revise settings Wi-Fi area to watch is protected so that nobody without our consent can be connected.

Mobile hotspots

Now that we have seen how our device Android can share our data connection let an interesting option available from Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) for devices that will connect to a Wi-Fi access created by another Android device.

If we connect to a wireless access point we can say that applications do not consume data when they are in the background so as not to spend so much the data rate of the other device. This option is in Settings> Wireless & networks> Data usage. Once in "Data usage" just we have to go to the menu and access Mobile hotspots to select Wi-Fi networks that are shared by a mobile device to prevent applications from connecting to the Internet in the background. They may also display a warning if you are downloading large files.
