Two methods to connect your Samsung Galaxy On5 Android smartphone to the TV

Using a HDMI Cable

This is the simplest method, since you only need an HDMI cable. It will depend on the type of mobile device, some already bring the micro HDMI port , but in other cases it will be necessary to use an MHL micro USB to HDMI converter , such as the above image, which has cost about 8 euros.

All you have to connect the cable to your Android and the TV, and look for the HDMI source with the TV remote. Once done, you will have the screen of your smartphone or tablet on your TV and you can see games, apps, videos and your favorite content on the big screen.

by WiFi

To connect your smartphone to the TV wirelessly, two things are necessary. First, your TV must have WiFi option, something we find virtually any SmartTV today. On the other hand, your phone must also have multiple function display. If you are sure that accounts with both options, just follow these steps:

  1. Through the source of your TV, find the wireless display option.
  2. Start multi - screen option on your smartphone. Once inside, your phone will start searching for other devices that are connected to the WiFi network through this function. Here you must select your TV.
  3. Once the two devices are recognized, the screen of your smartphone appear on the TV.

There are also some applications where you need not follow these steps because they can connect to the TV automatically. This occurs with numerous video and image applications, such as YouTube or your phone gallery.

In these applications you will find an icon with two screens or a screen and connecting a WiFi signal. Clicking on this button, you'll find all the devices connected to your network. You have to choose your TV and the app in question will appear on the screen.

Neither of these options works for the Samsung on5. The phone is not mhl supported nor does it have a mirror screen option. It simply can't happen with the on5. The only way to get the on5 to show up on your tv is via Chromecast which requires an internet connection  (besides the phones connection you need another source for the Chromecast)

HDMI/MHL did not work for me. Tried 2 brands.  Still  trying to figure it out.   Wireless is not an option at this time.

My galaxy note 3 was the only one that work perfect...all those useless apps. The phone just looks good.

I just thought I upgraded my phone... instead I got Less.  My galaxy grand prime had screen mirroring the on5 is junk. Can't connect to my tv without internet. Lame

You can use Chromecast, which costs about 35 euros. We devoted an entire folder , which I invite you to read. Know that other certified devices "Chromecast" you can now be marketed.

You are absolutely correct! I use Chromecast to cast my screen. I'm using Samsung Galaxy on5. This works absolutely marvelous. I can't praise Chromecast enough! If you have a Galaxy on5 and are wanting to mirror your screen use Chromecast.

Hi sorry to ask stupid questions....but how do i get my chrome cast to work and mirror my Samsung on5? This is because I do not have internet connect or Wi-Fi at my house except for my unlimited data on my phone...please help me

u need wifi for chromcast i made that mistake also.  but the guy at bestbuy said it wks without wifi but thats bull.  u need wifi

Try putting it in airplane mode with the HDMI cable..seen something on YouTube a guy bought five diff HDMI cables all it was it needed to be out in airplane mode..weird but  try it.
by
Airplane mode makes sense since the radio function eats battery power not used in a cabled situation but needed to mirror.

There is also a cable ($9 USA) with a micro usb and std usb on one end, with std hdmi on the other end for the TV.  Micro to the phone of course, and the std usb to either the TV usb or a phone power adapter to power up the mirroring.  Thanks for the airplane mode tip tho, since there's no reason to keep the radio in operation unless there's data streaming directly off the internet.  But for mp4s already saved on a phone, or  photos, etc, there's not reason to have a receiver running in the background.

There are cables without the Y split between usbs, but some users find it doesn't power up enough to complete the action to a TV that is not Smart but does have hdmi.

Google Inc.

Google Cast devices allow you to easily cast all your entertainment on your TV or on your ..

You then download the latest version of the Chromecast app on your Android device. If your Android and Chromecast are paired, you just have to select it in the list. The option is also available in Settings> Display> Screen Broadcast (Android Settings> Display> Screen Cast).

Wired

Wired

Another alternative is to connect the phone to the TV via a cable. You will acquire a Samsung MHL-HDMI TV adapter that allows to stream 1080p HD video while charging the phone.

The HDMI-MHL adapter converts USB micro-MHL port Galaxy Note 3 standard HDMI output. This accessory is not included with the Galaxy Note 3, but you'll find it in specialty shops for a few euros. It is also necessary to acquire an HDMI cable to make the connection between the MHL adapter and HDMI TV. This solution is simple, inexpensive, highly effective but not always practical given the cable that connects the phone to the TV!
