How to connect a Bluetooth headset to a computer

  • Turn the Bluetooth adapter on the computer.
  • Click the Start (Start) button, and then click Control Panel (Control Panel).
  • In the Control Panel window (Control Panel), click Hardware and Sound (Hardware and Sound).
  • In the Hardware and Sound (Hardware and Sound) window under Devices and Printers (Devices and Printers), click Add a Bluetooth device (Add a Bluetooth device).
  • Set Bluetooth headset in discoverable mode.
    • NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for information on how to make the Bluetooth headset discoverable.
  • In the Add window device (Add a device), click to select Bluetooth headset (Bluetooth headset), and then click the Next button (Next).
    • NOTE: The name of the Bluetooth headset can be different.
      If you are prompted to enter a code for your Bluetooth headset, see the manufacturer's instructions to get the code or try: 0000

  • After the Bluetooth headset connection is successful, click the Close button (Close).
  • Click the Start (Start) button, and then click Control Panel (Control Panel).
  • In the Control Panel window (Control Panel), click Hardware and Sound (Hardware and Sound).
  • In the Hardware and Sound (Hardware and Sound) window, click Sound (Sound).
  • In the Sound (Sound) window, click to select Bluetooth Hands-free Audio (Bluetooth Handsfree Audio) and then click the Set Default button (Set as default).
    • NOTE: Once the Bluetooth audio device is the default playback device, a check mark appears green next to the device.
  • Click the OK () button.
